Mark Your Calendar Gems Softball Registration

Early Registration for the GEMS 2007 softball Season will take place on the following three dates at the Westmont Community Center:

Saturday                  Jan 6th,             9:00 am –12:00 noon

Saturday                  Jan 13th,           9:00 am – 12:00 noon

Thursday                   Jan 18th,      6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

 You may register in person at the Westmont Community Center after January 25th. Fliers will be distributed to all schools prior to registration with further information. The GEMS Softball Advisory Board meets each month at the Westmont Community Center. If you have any questions, please call 963-5252.

Please note that we will not be taking any requests for team placement for the U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 divisions this year.

The U10 Division will begin the season with machine pitch for the first half of the season while developing pitchers for the second half of the season. GEMS softball begins its season in May with practice. Games start after Memorial Day, and the season will conclude at the end of July. Games for Tee-Ball and the U10 and U12 division will be played at Twin Lakes Park. The U14, division will play primarily at Ty Warner Park with some games being played at Twin Lakes Park. Practice locations and dates will vary based on coach’s discretion. The U16 and the U18 teams will play in the Southwest Suburban Softball League.        

The GEMS Softball Advisory Board has changed the age levels for the 2007 season based on our growing numbers and the need to make our league balanced within each age level.
